A scenic 30-minute drive takes you to the well-known Doi Suthep National Park. This majestic mountain peak offers breathtaking scenery, a national park and is home to the sacred Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
More than just stunning views over the city, there is so much to see at Doi Suthep. At the foot of Doi Suthep, on the way to the temple, you will pass the ‘Huay Kaew Waterfall. A picture-perfect start to your trek up the mountain. A little further up from the temple you will reach the ‘Bhubing Palace’, where you will find a beautiful rose garden.
For the adventure seekers, you can take the long staircase of around 309 steps. If you’re unable or want a more relaxing journey then, there is also a cable car that takes visitors up and down.
With its close proximity under an hour drive from the ibis Chiang Mai, Doi Suthep, is a must-visit attraction on any itinerary to Chiang Mai.
